Updates and commentary on immigration and asylum law

About this blog

The blog

The blog is written semi-anonymously and basically for fun. The main purposes of the blog are to help the editor think through new developments himself and also to provide updates, pointers and links for the benefit of other immigration lawyers and for migrants researching their own position.

You can subscribe to the blog by email or by RSS through the panel on the right hand side. Emails are sent out a maximum of once per day, but in fact rarely more than twice per week.

The editor

The editor is a barrister in the immigration team at Renaissance Chambers who specialises in immigration law and child care proceedings in the family courts. Because the editor is a barrister, he is unable to give legal advice directly to the public. This is a professional rule for barristers and breaching it risks disciplinary action from the Bar Council. Work must be received through solicitors or those with licences from the Bar Council. This is why requests for legal advice through the blog will be ignored.

If you wish you may email the editor.
